05.06 Lotus 88 Foundation President Patricia Stout visited Brave Heart Society on the Yankton Reservation in Lake Andes, South Dakota. She met with Brave Heart Board members and discussed their programs and needs. The Brave Heart Board has developed a long-range plan and set out their vision for what they would like to achieve in the next ten years.
11.05 Following President Patricia Stout's trip to Tibet, Lotus 88 Foundation created the Sangyala Project which pooled the donations of other Tibet trip participants to provide support for Buddhist nuns in Lhasa to build a road to their nunnery. The road increases their ability to sustain themselves through tourism, provides access for the village people to the temple, and provides the nuns access to local markets to sell and buy goods and food.
